where we are

Continuing with our short film project prep work as a group we have stedilly made progress upto filming.

We have sucessfully

. decided what we are going to call our short film this being " the long lunch break"
. constructed production schedules to help keep on track
. took a series of images for a possible location inside college (lift)
. briefly decided on a potential poster idea getting feedback from class members
. researched a clip of a male trapped in a lift on youtube looking back at the cctv footage which we are thinking of including in a similar scene within our short film to add verisimilitude.
. completed story board and how the narrative will unwravel
. contacted a student within our college to ask about a place in our film (this being one of the main characters).


still working on

. finish story board and create a powerpoint slide or a google document presented to class for improvements
. complete call sheet and script
. letter of permission to a local retail manager to rent out a lift for film day
. arrrange holiday work

production schedule

Here is our plan of action. This table enables us to veiw our tragets and keep track of our progression throughout the week it also allows us to know what needs to be done before we start filming. At each final slot of the day we have put several other tasks, this is for out of college progression and to finish off aspects we missed in lesson.

Here we have took examples of possible a location for our short film. Taking these we have used low and high angle shots inside the lift to see how much room we had for potential filming.
Being a disabled lift we relised to add verisimilitude to our short film that we would have to show a different lift enterance of some stereotypical office therefore clevely editing the two character entering the lift of a shop and then the actual filming inside the lift at college as it gives us privacy from shoppers e.t.c when filming.

To advertise the promotion of our short film as a group we brainstormed poster ideas then i roughly sketched them out on a.4 to dicsuss which we felt was most suitable.








Failing to just pick one idea to move forward liking several of the drawings we thought it would be best to create a questionaire for the other groups in the project to further help us coming to decision and to advance with just the one.

Coming to a group desicion we changed our one strand narrative to create more meaning, with this we decided that by having the two enemies being of different race and origins the short film would be more interesting and the topic of racism evident from both sides of the characters. Having this we talked to our teacher if it was possible to contact a student in college of a different colour to play the role needed in our short film. Above is the email we sent and the positive responce back from Laurence

evaluation on ideas for short film

Getting the feedback for our ideas we were extremely satisfied with the results coming back to us as the idea we preferred the most came back the most positive. This has allowed us carry on with our two men trapped in a lift idea which we was our intensions from when we first brainstormed.
