Here is a potential starting point for my music magazine drawn in rough to practise different layouts and how the mise-en-scene will effect the genre of my music magazine. To start with the clothes they are wearing have strong connotations of rave and dance type of music and overall different from typical genres of indie and heavy metal mags.
The mast head of my magazine dosent reely do anything for the magazine, however i was experimenting with the comic book style font created by myself to try and enhance an 80's type of theme. This is an aspect i may consider when producing my own.
At the top right of the front cover shows a smaller picture box of 4 more music artists, this is a good stratergy in making my magazine more appealing to the target audience as it shows it has alot to offer other than just the 3 main characters centre page.

Similar to the front cover of my TRC mock up magazine the same house styles are put to practice to set the theme through onto the contents page.
For the audience to have an easier understanding and where abouts collums have been used for better organisation and to set the order of importance. With this sub headings, underlining, bold lettering enable an simple discourse for the audience to follow, imagary of this type is also revelant as it helps back up the semantic field of education. One type of shot i used was a low angle shot this was on the college itself readressing the fact the college is the main issue therefore needing to look important and significantto the readers. Nothing too over the top is needed with this genre of magazine as its purpose is more important than the visuals to show this suttle plain colours are used to present the information.
The other pictures on page are a representation of a mixture of friends looking happy and at ease with their enviroment this is good for those people to first pick up the magzine wanting to know more about the college and the types of social groups their.

Here is my mock up front cover magazine for TRC.

Following typical conventions from other magazines i created a strong representation good enough to be used as it stands. To add verisilimilitude to my work main key aspects such as mise-en-scene, font styles, sell lines, mode of adress e.t.c needed to be present.

Constructing my masthead i used the serif font Times New Roman this giving the magazine an edge of importance and power which is nesercery as TRC stands as a name. The colours of the masthead i also use throughout the page this sets a simple theme going on and compliments the overall feel to the magazine letting the audience know its about a college magazine talking about college issues. The rest of the sell lines on page are Sans serif fonts this sets a less formal register and interacts with the audience on a peer-to-peer level. With this the magazine has a very friendly tenor to it with postive connotations, the lines " highest grades as of yet "and " B-ball team in great win streek" give confidence to the students urging them to continue impressing the college. I also used rhetoical questions as this drags the target audience in to read on.

The image i used was a representation of a sucessful student attending TRC. Having a mediam close up alowed me to capture the facial expression and body movement showing the student over looking a situation and having a minute to him self. The fact he is smiling also helps sell the magazine and has anchorage to the text on the right hand of the page.
